A browser-game restoration
About Fly With Manole
Fly With Manole is a compact arcade game from the Flash era. You launch Manole from a bell tower, keep his wooden wings moving, collect white wings, dodge birds, and try to cover the greatest possible distance.
The classic Manole game
The game is also remembered as Manole, Fly With Manole, and the GameSheep Manole game. It appeared during the mid-2000s wave of short browser games designed around one clear idea and a score worth chasing. A contemporary review described it as a Romanian Flash game in which the goal is to fly as far as possible by clicking to flap Manole’s wings.
Its theme draws on the Romanian legend of Master Manole. In the traditional story, Manole and the builders are stranded on the roof of the monastery they constructed. They fashion wooden wings in an attempt to escape. The browser game turns that dramatic image into an approachable distance challenge: each flight starts at the tower and continues until Manole can no longer stay airborne.
Simple controls
The entire flight is controlled with clicks. That makes the game easy to begin, while timing, altitude, and route choice create the challenge.
A working scoreboard
This restoration reconnects the original game to a functioning online leaderboard, so completed flights can be ranked again.
Preserved for modern browsers
Original Flash content no longer runs directly in current browsers. This version uses the open-source Ruffle emulator to run the preserved game while keeping the original stage proportions and gameplay. The old score requests are redirected to a new local scoreboard service, allowing the game to work without depending on the discontinued original website.
The goal of the restoration is fidelity. The game file and its controls remain intact, while the surrounding page provides modern scaling, fullscreen support, mobile-friendly layout, and a live scoreboard. No browser plug-in or Flash installation is required.
Why the scoreboard matters
Manole is built around repeated attempts. A slightly better launch, one more wing, or a safer line beneath a bird can extend a flight. Recording distances gives those attempts a lasting result and restores the competition that made many browser games memorable. The leaderboard includes recent, yearly, and all-time views on the game page, plus a public all-time high-score page.
If you remember the original game, you can play it immediately. If this is your first flight, read the short guide, then see how far your wooden wings can carry you.
